“Velvet & Paper”
Galerie Biedermann presented the exhibition Velvet & Paper by the artist Sylke von Gaza on her Munich premises. In the gallery's third exhibition on the artist's work, part of the workgroup Oil on Paper was shown for the first time. These works enable to gain a deep understanding of Sylke von Gaza's painting, especially the aspect of colour layering. The vulnerability inherent in her work, which sometimes remains hidden behind her powerful brushstrokes in the artist's oil paintings, strongly emerges in these works on paper and recalls the Colorfield tradition of a Helen Frankenthaler.
The exhibition opened on Thursday 21 February at 6 p.m. and was on view in the following weeks in the gallery's premises in the Pinakotheken district of Munich.
